When you come to our office for an in-office whitening experience, you will relax with gourmet beverages, and we will treat you to the same VIP experience we give all our patients. Our teeth whitening (or bleaching) procedure takes about an hour to complete and can brighten your smile up to ten shades, while you continue to relax in our spalike atmosphere.
When we begin your procedure, we will get you comfortable and determine the starting shade of your teeth using a shade guide. We will then place a protective guard over your lips and cheeks to keep the whitening gel from contacting them, and we’ll give you a bite guard to keep the gel from touching your tongue. We will next apply a resin barrier around your gum line to ensure the whitening gel does not slide off your teeth onto your gums.
With these in place, we will begin the whitening portion of your procedure by applying the whitening gel directly to your teeth. After twenty minutes, we will remove the whitening gel and recheck the shade of your teeth using our shade guide. If additional shading is needed, we will add a second application of whitening gel for an additional twenty minutes to ensure you leave with the bright, radiant smile you deserve.
Before you leave, we will give you complimentary custom whitening trays and gel to take home so you can perform additional whitening or maintenance from the comfort of your own home and give you simple instructions for keeping your smile bright and beautiful for years to come. When you come back for cleanings, we will also give you additional whitening gel to take home.
